Predator Free 2050

New Zealand is home to a number of unique species of birds, frogs, lizards and plants. As a country, New Zealand has aspired to be predator-free by 2050 with the complete removal of rats, stoats and possums. Predator Free 2050 brings together national and local government, non-government agencies, Iwi, science and research organisations, businesses, landowners, communities, and individuals with the aim to achieve this goal. WMIL is proud to be part of this predator free vision by providing on the ground assistance, developing tools and techniques, and supporting local communities with their projects. Building on our ongoing work with a number of Predator Free 2050 and community trapping projects, WMIL can provide advice and assistance to design, implement, and complete your project including training community members in the correct and safe use of traps, data collection methods, analysis and interpretation of data and dissemination of results and lessons learnt.
